We have reanalyzed the thermodynamic behavior of H2O in the vicinity of the critical point to suggest updated values for the amplitudes of the asymptotic critical power laws.  A revised parametric scaled equation of state, that also includes non-asymptotic and liquid-gas asymmetry corrections, has been used to fit the experimental data on PVT and the speed of sound.  As D2O and H2O are quite similar in terms of critical effects, their asymptotic amplitudes are shown to be very close.
