OPTICAL RETARDANCE

Custom Measurements

NIST maintains an optical retardance artifact of nominally 90 degrees retardance over the wavelength range of 1200 nm to 1600 nm, known to approximately 0.1 degree. Custom calibrations using this artifact can be arranged. The Standard Reference Material (SRM 2525) for optical retardance is no longer available and has been replaced with this custom service.
